How do i make a sandisk cruzer 16 gb usb drive bootable?

looked all over, can't find a reliable method.

waste 3 usb sticks trying....any suggestions appreciated, thanks

Wasted 3 usb sticks trying to do that? Why don't they work?
I'm pretty sure all they need is a good reformatting.

need to make an usb bootable to install vista into netbook. wont recognize dvd/cd player/recorder...

so when i select start from usb in bios, it will boot into usb disk and installl vista.
