When gaming and using just one monitor if i shut the other off will it not effect my GPU? I've also realized I can't have two windows full screen ex if i put a movie fullscreen on screen 2 the second i click screen 1 the scree 2 video exits full screen.



Trying to not make a million threads so ill throw this in this thread. I have a old 8800gtx sitting around is there any way to use this in my new rig? Maybe as a PhysX card? or something just so its not being wasted?

i have had similar experiences with the fullscreen exiting problem. but mine seems to be a hit or miss thing; sometimes that will happen but other times it will remain fullscreen. you can actually just leave the monitor on when gaming since the gpu will automatically adjust the resolution of the monitor to fit the resolution of the game even though the game only displays on the other screen. however if you don't like doing that, i don't think you should have any problems turning off the monitor in-game. if the game exits fullscreen then just do alt-enter and return to fullscreen.
 
It takes very little GPU power by todays standards. I don't think it will do anything if you've got the other monitor switched off.
