How do I play DVDs on my computer?

My computer says on it that it "DVD ROM", but it doesn't play DVDs when I put them in.

I'm on Windows ME and VLC player doesn't work with my computer for some reason.

Any advice? Thanks.

You need a DVD codec, which requires a program like CyberDVD or similar. Otherwise, you cant watch movies with any player.

If you Google "dvd player software" no quotes, take your pick of free and pay. Most should come with codecs.
