Stick the DVD in, and a windows should come up, provided that you are using XP, just choose to play it with Windows Media Player.

There should be two folders in your DVD Drive AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS and the VIDEO_TS normally contains files. You can play them using Windows Media Player or better still more of a dedicated program like PowerDVD, looking round download.com I found some DVD playing software you could try and post back results.

play dvd's

I wasn't able to play DVDs with windows media. Appearantly some people do (from above). Must be a problem with my software. At any rate power DVD was supplied free with my burner and it plays very well. You are given a choice of formats. Had to play cult classic Easy Rider and it had incredable detail.

WMP will (or should) NOT play any DVDs unless WMP can find a DVD codec somewhere else on your PC, either from another program one you have downloaded and installed yourself. I use PowerDVD as well. RealPlayer also will play DVDs on its own.

Yeah you could use PowerDvd but in my opinion i wouldnt recomend it.

I got it free with my graphics card and its not very good,Also its not free.

Im not saying its realy bad but it just fails to compete with other similar products ive used such as Intervideo WinDvd.

I would rather use one of those free dvd players instead of PowerDvd.

It isnt such problems.

I just dont think it has the simplicity and some features that Intervideo Windvd has.
