Im having some issues with my other computer, seems like its a virus of somesort.

Problems:
1- I cannot dble-click, to open files I click once
2- 1 cannot load internet pages correctly
3- I cannot change internet address (ei, google.com)
4- If I click and hold, countless number folders pop up

The first sign of these problems occur right after I updated something, I forgot what, but everytime I opened my computer, this update popuped so, one time I accedentally updated, and my computer just got screwed.

Its acting weird so I want to reboot the computer. Im not sure how to. If there are any other suggestions please help me out.

Not to be sarcastic, but you don't know how to reboot? Who showed you how to turn on the computer then?

Sorry, bad day at work.

Go to the start button, lower left corner of the computer screen, click on the start button,

on the pop up that appears, go to the bottom where it says "shut down", click on it. It will give you an option to either, log off, restart, or shutdown. Pick the restart option. It will reboot.

But it sounds like a virus or trojan to me. If you do not know how to get rid of this then you should find a friend or someone to get rid of it for you.

Do you have any anti virus software running on your system? If not, then get some immediatly!

If all else fails... there's always the power button or the plug in the wall... but I'd try the normal way first

sorry for the confusion, and yea i when i ment reboot, i ment to reinstall windows, and i got norton but nothing popup as a virus, i ran hijackthis.de to get rid of unneccsary spyware, but i still get the problem, will reinstalling windows help the problem? and if so how i do that...

and for all those who think im stupid, my bad ahhaha for the confusion:)

Did you install windows in the first place? Or is this a system you bought already running.

Just trying to get a feel of how much knowledge you have using computers. If you have none at all, I would suggest you find a friend that has the knowledge to do this.

To get rid of virus's or trojans by re installing windows, you would have to reformat the hard drive first, then install windows fresh. That would mean loosing everything on your hard drive.

There is a very good chance that if you find a friend that has a lot of knowledge of computers, they will be able to get rid of the virus/trojan without deleting windows and reinstalling.

It sounds like you have a Trojan that is hijacking your system.

Do you use Internet Explorer? If so the first thing you should do is stop using that and download a browser engine called Firefox. IE is very easy to hack, and every hacker out there is writing programs to do so.

There are lots of programs that will probably be able to detect your problem and fix it.

AVG free antivirus is a good choice to try. Download it from the following link.

http://www.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-virus/us/crp/4

That is just one thing you can try.

hey yea i got plenty of computer knowledge man, sorry for sound like a noob, nahh i got the computer with XP on it, thats why i dunno how to reinstall it.
i had some issues with firefox in the past, but ill try it out again, ill dl the antivirus u recomend and scan it again.

im willing to deal with the hard drive, i backed it up on a different source so no worries with that.

come to think about it, it could have been a trogan on the count of right after i updated this program on my comp, it got screwed up

AND for all those please dont think i am computer illterate hahahah

doesnt Norton find trogans? coz im scanning and not finding anything.?

IMO norton sucks, use avg... when you bought the pc, what disc did it come with. cause you will need drivers if you decide to format.

Well, reformatting is easy enough. All you have to do is put in the windows xp CD at bootup. Select boot from CD, a blue screen should show up and the computer will load files for a while. Then you can follow the directions for a reformat, partition, format and reinstallation.
