Besides posting the log from a tool like HiJack This one freeware getting a better review here lately is called Spyware Terminator with active protection that acts like a mild firewall and alerts you to any system changes as well as seeing some IE protection. The HiJack This tool is free at http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php One option for an online analysis is still never as thorough as a program like ST but you simply paste a log there for the results seen at http://www.hijackthis.de/
Lavasoft's Ad-Aware is also a commonly recommeded adware type remover with the latest 2007 version available at http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php A better tool still is made by Grisoft namely the AVG Antimalware and rootkit removal tools found along with their free antivirus program at http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti-spyware-free
With the combination of those installed here the only thing I have seen on the last two builds is the typical data miners you get from shopping sites. Those tend to give spammers opportunities for sending garbage into your email accounts once they are found actively used.

Please download the HijackThis installer from http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.
Click Do a system scan and save a logfile
When the Notepad window opens choose Edit -> Select All to select the entire log, and copy and paste the log into a reply post.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
