How do i set slave drive?

i have 2...well 3 cd drives
first, im using ribbon cable and i dont know how to install the third drive
also, how do i set slave drive, the head drive or what ever?

on the left side of teh drives, it has little slots that say slave...ect.

Look on the the back of the drive where the connectors go, there is a small object on two pins called a jumper. If you look on the drive there will be a picture somewhere that shows which way to postion the jumper for master, do as it shows, and make sure the 2nd drive is set as slave. Now for the 3rd drive you will need a second IDE cable and connect it to the secondary IDE controller on the motherboard, and make sure it is set to master.
