How do i set up a linksys wrt320n dual band router to run wireless-g and N

Ive purchased a linksys wireless N Dual band router. I have multiple users in my home and everyone's devices are different. Some are compatible with wireless N And some are not. I have tried everything to get the wireless N And G to run at the same time. This is possible isnt it? If so, how do i set it up properly to work. I would really love to use 5 ghz wireless N
 
They both run at the same time by default unless you have disabled that in the router setup.
 
How do i know if its disabled? I think it may b disabled because when i run a speed test (right in front of the router) my device that is wireless N compatible gets the same results as a wireless g device. And yes i am 100% sure each device is what i stated
 
What speed are you paying for? What are the results of the speedtest? Technically, Wireless N won't help with internet speed unless the speed you are paying for is above 54mb. Wireless N will help with transferring files between networked machines though.
 
I am paying for above 54mb. I have optimum with speedboost ultra. My internet speed is fast. I can surf the web like its nothing. I get a rating of roughly 75-100mb

Not sure what the issue is. Wireless G is only capable of up to 54mbps, so any G device should max out at 54 if you are getting 75-100mbps speeds on N. What are the speedtest results of each G and N device? If you are getting a wireless speed test of above 54mbps then wireless N is working.
 
do you have any getting more than 54? If so, then it seems wireless N and wireless G are working. Access the router to verify both G and N are enabled. Open a browser, type the following IP address and hit enter.

192.168.1.1

You should see a box pop up asking for username and password. Leave username blank and enter admin for password. You should now see the router configuration page. Find the settings for the wireless to verify both are enabled.
 
You said you were getting a rating of 75-100. Is that using wired or wireless connection? If wired then you need to access the router configuration page and check to see if wireless N is enabled.
 
Network mode is mixed. Can i run wireless N and G if i put the band on 5ghz? Also what settings on this page should i change to get the most out of my router. In other words what channel should i select to lower interference and what channel width is best. Should i Disable SSID broadcast?

Using the router you have now? or a different router? If its the one you have now, just try resetting the router, unplug it, wait a minute and then plug it back in. Also, it could be your modem, try resetting it as well.
 
You will just have to test what channel is best to use, usually 6 or 11 is best I believe.
 
K thanks and i called my provider. They r coming to replace the modem. I tried everything u suggested and have done other trouble shooting which concluded my modem is shot.
 
Unless you're on the 5Ghz network you won't get N speeds because in order for N to run on the 2.4Ghz all your devices have to be N.
