How do I tell faster Ram?

Hello.
Im rebuilding my computer atm.

Unfortunatly I ordered DDR3 and this system doesn't take it.
I was wondering with DDR2 how can I tell whats faster?
Example:
Patriot Extreme Performance Viper 4GB 2X2GB PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 CL5-5-5-15 EPP Memory Kit
Patriot Viper Extreme Performance 4GB DDR2 2X2GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL 4-4-4-12 Memory Kit
I notice the CL5-5-5 or CL 4-4-4 what do these numbers mean and which would be the faster..
Also advice on what ram would be helpful.

Lower CL will be better, quicker.

Get DDR2 1066 with the lowest CL you can find. :good:
