How do I uninstall McAfee?

Hello

I'm going to (want to) uninstall McAfee on my computer. I've gone into add or remove programs on the control panel but I only have the option of removing McAfee uninstaller.

I can't actually find McAfee uninstaller on the computer so I can't see how I can get rid of McAfee!!!

How do I uninstall it?

One other question:

Once I've finally removed McAfee I'm going to replace it by downloading a free alternative. Will uninstalling McAfee in any way hinder my internet access and prevent me from downloading another package?

I also have Mcafee and the uninstall is done from
Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove programs

Do not uninstall Mcafee and then connect to the internet, but do it the other way around. Download whatever takes your fancy, uninstall Mcafee, reboot and install your new anti-virus before connecting. I read somewhere that an unprotected computer can be infected within seconds.:(

yeah...although the norton on this computer has been out for a few months, and I dont notice anything. I renewed it about a week ago..scanned and found nothing. Keep in mind I use this computer for at least 2 hours/day. (going to all kinds of websites).

Also, what free alt. are you going to install? AVG?
