Nvidia Forceware, located in "C:\NVIDIA\WinVista64\169.25\".. I am running Vista Ultimate 64 which is kinda new to me and as far as i can tell there is no Add/Remove Programs (correct?). The folder contains a "nvudisp.exe" which has a file description of Nvidia Unistall Utility. But when i double click it it comes up with Untitled.jpg . Which doesnt help me a whole lot.

1. If i install the previous version of the Forceware (because this one causes me problems) will it overwrite it, or cause more problems?

2. Am i doing something wrong?

3. Please excuse this retarded question, i suck.

Even the 32bit editions now see the Programs + Features icon in the control panel rather then the original add/remove programs and even add/remove Windows components section seen in Windows since 98. Generally you would use a driver removal tool found on the software disk for a video card or at the support/download site.

The Forceware however is NVidia cinematic application added on for multimedia, gaming, and others things as a performance enhancement. http://www.nvidia.com/page/multimedia.html

The instructions for entire removal are as follows.

"1. Uninstall any existing graphics drivers. To do this, go to Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs in XP or Control Panel>Programs and Features in Vista. Select the 'Nvidia Drivers' (or similar) item if available and click the Change/Remove or Uninstall button and follow the prompts, rebooting as required. If you happen to have any other graphics drivers left over from previous hardware, such as ATI graphics drivers, uninstall them from here as well. If you have an Nvidia-based motherboard, when uninstalling the Nvidia drivers you will have to specifically select the 'Remove only the following' item, then only select the 'Nvidia Display Drivers' box. If you cannot find any Nvidia display-related entries (e.g. a fresh install of Windows), you are probably using the default Windows graphics drivers, which means you can skip to the New Driver Installation section further below." http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_3.html

Done, thank you for that link. The reason i needed to downgrade the Forceware was because of a bug that causes the screen to flicker while in SLI mode. Now it says its in SLI Mode and i think it is because of the performance im getting, but i no longer have the SLI strip on the side of the screen, and the "Show SLI Visualization" option is ticked, any thoughts?

I haven't actually had time to spend with either SLI or Crossfire setups to get too familiar with the onscreen options. But the fact that SLI is now enabled probably sees that hidden from view. You would likely need to go into the display settings and look there in the NVidia desktop manager.

I'm glad to see you got that cleared up. But if someone is currently running SLI can add something here they would be welcome to.
