How do I upgrade RAM for a Toshiba Satellite?

I removed the old RAM, put in the new ones, now the computer doesn't even turn on.

The lights come on, but nothing on the screen.

Which ones did you buy, that eBay link?

Try re-seating the RAM. If that still doesn't work, try each stick one at a time.

I don't even know what reseat means. I took the old stuff out, put the new stuff in.

Can you get access to cmos battery? If so, then disconnect it. Unplug power, remove laptop battery, unplug cmos battery, press and hold the power button for a few seconds, then wait a few minutes then reconnect everything and try booting up.
