How do I upgrade RAM for a Toshiba Satellite?

Try re-seating the RAM. If that still doesn't work, try each stick one at a time.

Clear the CMOS, enter BIOS and set correct voltage setting for RAM (it will be written on modules and packaging). Set correct boot priority and other settings and save.

Yes because a Toshiba Satellite will totally let him do this.

Can you get access to cmos battery? If so, then disconnect it. Unplug power, remove laptop battery, unplug cmos battery, press and hold the power button for a few seconds, then wait a few minutes then reconnect everything and try booting up.
