Hello everyone long time no see,

and today I wanted to ask how you apply thermal paste to your CPU.

What method gets you the best results?

thank you.

In general, just put a amount of the size of a grain of rice in the middle. Then let the CPU cooler spread it out.

i like to smear it around after i attach the cooler to it... i have watched a few videos where they did that in the tutorial... this spreads it out even better once you mate the 2

Use the technique Stranglehold suggested for applying thermal paste. I would also suggest making sure the heatsink and processor are clean before applying the thermal paste. Isopropyl alcohol is a very good cleaning agent to use.

The only time I would recommend doing that, is if you spread it out on the CPU before installing the cooler. It would help to get the air bubbles out.

It actually doesn't help with air bubbles because you can never get a perfectly flat or even layer of paste.

The CPU and cooler are the closest thing to perfectly flat so let them do the spreading. IMO.

thanks for the help I'll be going with the method that strangehold suggested, it seems like the best choice.
