I just got a wireless router and am a little concerned about security (credit cards and stuff). I set up all the firewalls and everything but I was wondering how to completely erase all internet tracks you may have made on the web...
Thanks,
John
Is the wireless connection encryted? If so, the only dangerous tracks (credit card numbers, etc) you'll leave outside of your computer will be at the sites that you make purchases, and any good site takes Extreme care of keeping your info safe.
http://www.ccleaner.com/ this will erase everything but it will not rewrite over deleted tracks like windows washer, but its free!
If you are realy worried about any information being left on your computer that someone might be able to take advantage of then purchase windows washer, its a good program I use it myself!
just go into your settings and erase cookies, temp files, history files, cahe's etc..
personally for me, i dont see it as such a big reason now because sites now are BBB certified all high-tech and protected that your info is pretty much confidential. the same thing with your CC companies, they are pretty good when unused charges are placed and what not.
right click on your C drive and go to properties -> Disk Cleanup
why download extra garbage to do something windows does on it's own (and it does it quite well, I painfully admit)
