How do you test a mobo?

I have an old mobo and I would like to test if its still good. How do I do it with as low amount of harware attached on it as possible?

Can I do a POST with just the monitor PSU connected to the mobo? just to see if its still fine?

All you need is a processor, RAM, and a video card(if it's not onboard)

YOu might be able to without video. Many will give the no video beep and continue. Others won't finish post. You also should connect a PC speaker to it, if it doesn't have a little buzzer built on to it.

Since this is not to old of a thread, I figured I would revive it, because I have the same question as above
