How do you turn off sound.............

Hmmm

Well, you can disable startup and shutdown sounds under the Sounds and Audio Devices section in the Control Panel. That will mean that you will hear nothing (which is what you wanted right?).

JAN :D

Go to:
C:\WINDOWS\Media

There are two files, named:
Windows XP Logon
Windows XP Logoff

Just change the names, for example:
Windows XP Logon off
Windows XP Logon off

Then when it goes to load the file, its not there and just doesnt play.

You can also put .WAV's in that folder and name it "Windows XP Logon" and have custom start up sounds.

Thats what I was trying to do.I know you can shut sounds down.
Changing the names won't make it hang there?
