How DOes My NeW ComPuTeR LooK? =)

i am about to build my new computer and wanted to see what you all thought on it. :) :P right now my comp is amd athlon 3000 with 512 ram so this new computer will crush my old one.. I wanted to go with the new am2 socket so I can upgrade when they make better ddr2s and processors, plus i needed an extremely good computer for gaming and multi tasking...I was going to get a amd 4400 x2 socket 939, but i wont be able to upgrade like i will with the new am2 mobo. I hear the conclusion is if your using socket 939, wait, and if ur starting new (like me), go for the am2. I hope I made the right choice :confused: :confused: .. WELL, here she is....

ATI's Radeon X1900 XTX would be a better outlook for the case there over the X1800XT. Made the move with OCZ memory. I don't see a problem with the cpu while looking into the Opteron line at present. You'll find that HL2 and Doom 3 will run well on lesser systems like on a Socket A(462) model with a pair of Kingston 1gb DDR400 dimms used here.

right now im waiting on monarchcomputers to send me my cpu, which is on backorder thanks to amd.. *sigh* :confused:
 
Well? That's due to AMD being the cpu of chioce over Intel for the performance benefits. But you certainly want to allow for expansion on a new build whenever possible. You bet that 7950 GX2 is going to cost a few extra bucks over the 7900 GT and ATI X1900 XTX cards.

Going with SCSI also means going with a SCSI controller card along with it. With SATA you can go with a card or strictly use the onboard controllers there. SCSI setups are generally referred to as the Cadilacs of drives for speed. But this also sees an overall price increase for the primary drive(s). Once you start installing some of the larger games out along with games and screen shots you'll find that the drive space will shrink fast. You would need two of the same in order to spare adding either a SATA or ide along with it. Gee? that Western Digital 75gb "Raptor" 10,000rpm SATA drive also looks good.
