well post your budget and Praetor (one of the admins) will probably come up with something he recommends based on that budget, but also say what you're going to be using it for as well

I think a 3800+ would balance out your pc. But rather go with a 3700+ and overclock to save money. and you could save up a bit more money for an X2 3800+ which is less than 20 dollars more than the 3800+. the X2 is a much better for the price compared to the single core 3800+.

it might be better for overclocking, or you might want 2x512mb for dual channel support.
