thanks and i was wondering if the standard heatsink/fan that came with the cpu is fine or should i get a different one
 
I can't really say for certain since I don't have any experience with them, but I would imagine that it performs "adequately". You'll probably be good unless you plan on overclocking. Also, now that I look more closely at your build, that motherboard might be overkill unless you plan on upgrading alot in the future. And is there a specific reason for windows 7 ultimate? Unless it has something more than you really need I'd save the money and just buy the premium.
 
well i was going to get ultimate because i believe home premium only can use up to 12GB of ram and i will be putting in 16
 
I had heard that rumor but I'm not sure if it's true. I can't think of a reason why they would do that. Someone else here want to clarify?

well when i went back to change the ram to what you recommended i will only be installing 12GB anyway and i am sure that will be plenty

The only thing I don't like about it is that it's micro atx, meaning less slots for upgrades, but it could come in handy if you used a smaller form factor case. As for the RAM, 12gb will be plenty, I doubt you'd be upgrading it before you got a new machine or a new operating system. In the end it is your machine though, and it's all up to you :)
 
and here is another question for you. does the plate the screws onto the motherboard and the back of the case come with the motherboard or the case because if it comes with the case would i have to find a motherboard that fit into that specific case
 
The motherboard always comes with the back panel. It wouldn't come with the case since there's no standard on rear panels.
 
You could cut some cost of that build by getting an i7 920,the overclocking it a little bit and getting 6gbs of ddr3 ram. 12gbs is super overkill even in 5 years you wouldn't need that much, let alone 6gbs. getting anything higher than the 920 is silly, becuase you end up paying hundeds of dollars more for a small amount of performance increse when you could Oc the 920.
 
the reason why i was going to get the higher speed processor is because i don't know how to overclock and i do not want to fry my computer
 
and i really don't know the difference between one video card to the next but if it helps i will be using cad software to make s-d's on the computer
