How easy is it to switch cases??

My current case is a piece of s**t, How hard is it to switch everything in the computer into a new case. Ive seen they are relatetively cheap. And they look sick, better sound dampering and cooling. Think this could help me out as my current one is falling apart
 
depends have u done it before, do u know a lot about computers, where things belong. Its really based on ur expirience.
 
Well, "easy" is all relative.

If unplugging every component, taking out every component, installing every component in your new case, and plugging everything back in is not very hard for you then it would be easy, but still time consuming.

If you don't know that much about where things go and hook up, then I'd say it would be difficult and more time consuming.
 
If you organise everything well then it should be easy, just dont thorw everything into a giant pile. keep every part, and all that parts cables and screws and what not seperated. If you dont know alot. take pictures of the inside of your case before you take it apart, then use that as a guideline.
 
It really depends on the case you are switching to.

If it's a large roomy case with plenty of work room, then it should be relatively easy no matter how much hardware you've got.

But if it's a mid-ATX or smaller and you've got bigger than average sized hands/arms expect a little difficulty. Going with a full tower really has its advantages.

As far as plugging everything in and all that, i find it easy lol. Just memorize how everythign was setup up and mimic that in the new case. write it down if you have to, i still do for some wirings.
 
yeah, i would say it is pretty easy, but before you do anything make sure that you have a plan of how it will go. nothing is worse than cables not being able to reach, or not having enough molex connectors to power everything.
 
well ive installed peices of hardware, i know a fair bit about computer. Wen i look at it, it doesnt look that difficult, there doesnt seem to be too many things to connect up. Ill take som pictures but how can i view them if it digital lol. Im gona get a coolermaster case or something along them line. So it'll be full size, the bigger the better really, easier to work with then. Just dont wana f**k it up and have no computer or put it all together and find out it dont work. Not much can go wrong can it?
 
just dont take things out and throw them on a rugged floor and such..static kills. And always unplug the computer's power outlet before doing anything. Then you should be fine.
 
Just another tip, make sure you put standoffs underneath the mobo board, so the mobo isnt directly touching the metal backplate thing or it can get shorted out, i made that mistake luckily i hadnt switched it on before i realised.

gosh lucky, i switched it on before i realized it...*poof* computer dies =(

Hehe sometimes it depends on the case yer switching from :P Dealing with some of them OEM/cheapo cases and getting mobos and drives out can be a bit icky
