Hey guys,

just something that got me wondering...how energy effecient do you think my pc actualy is?

Because its not all that powerfull so its not like it needs alot of power for example like a computer with 2x 8800 in SLI:D

Does less powerfull pc mean it uses less resources OR would new systems even if they are very powerfull be more enegy efficient?

get my question?

thanks fore replies.
il be chcking back at the replies laters :)

older computers run out of resources faster. it uses less power because it is a less power pc than the current ones. i think it is efficient because your 9600 can run any games even crysis.

i think theres some kind of plug socket thing which will tell you, also check the efficiency rating of your PSU that'll give you an idea of how much energy its wasting, most are around 80% efficient

Video cards is what sucks the juice, processors are pretty efficient now, like the Dual core I have now uses less Voltage and watts than a old Athlon XP 3200 single core.

I think newer PC's are more energy effecient, the parts they use will require less voltage, thus, getting more out of it, but using less resources. But if you have something like two 8800's in SLI, it will definately use more power than, say your 9600.

My PSU is 80% effecient, so the PSU is also a huge factor when looking at this :)
