How exactly to Crossfire 4870s

I’m getting ready to Crossfire a second 4870 and I’m not finding anything in the manual of my current Sapphire card on what’s required. My PSU should be up to the task at 700W and 4 PCI-E connectors. I’ve verified clearance of connectors on the lower slot, (just barely). Do I simply drop in the second card, plug in the Crossfire strap between the two cards, and plug the monitor into the upper card? Or is there more to it than that? Wondering if my GPU software, Catalyst Control Center, will have new features appear.

As long as you have a compatible motherboard and the Crossfire cable, yes, it is pretty much as simple as dropping in the card and plugging in the cable. Make sure your drivers are up to date.

You might get a pop up that says go to catlayst control center if not go there.
Look at the menue on the right below the ati overdrive there should be a tab that says crossfire.
Click it and click enable.
Make sure your in catlalyst control center andvanced.
