I just installed an AMD FX 8350 black ed and a water cool custom loop how far can would you guess i push it before damage lol i have only had the thing 3 days i dont wanna blow it up but id like my games to run a bit faster and everything to be better

What kind of loop do you have?

Usually you'd want to stay under 62C at load and 1.55v is 'max safe'.

For reference, mine takes a good 1.485 or so to be stable at 4.8 but won't be stable at 5 GHz even with 1.575v.

Also, that 5750 is holding your games back -big time-. Please upgrade your GPU.

the loop was a kit from frozen cpu the EK-kit L120 so 120mm rad with matching fan copper water block compression fittings rez and pump single unit

filled with the anticorosive that came with the kit mixed as directed
distilled water and a silver coil.

Sounds pretty good.

You don't really have a reason to push it at the moment with other bottlenecks in your system, though.

so other than the vid card im solid? what vid card would you recommend im an ATI and AMD fan ive had a lot of bad luck with the others

Like said, 4.8 is a pretty good clock for a 8350. Just keep a eye on the temps under load.

How much do you want to spend on a video card?

For a somewhat reasonable amount, u can get a gtx 770, but people are saying the gtx 960 will be out soon. If not nvidia, a r9 265 or 270 is good

only reason i ask is because a guy local to me said i should be able to get 6+ GHz with the water loop i have and that sounds a bit high to me. says he gets 4.8 on a dual core on a loop smaller than mine

GTX 770 and GTX 960 are way more powerful than a 265 or a 270, not sure why you'd recommend them next to each other.

While an R9 270 isn't a bad card, I would have probably gone for something a bit better if you can afford it. An R9 280 would be a better option if you can afford it.

Maybe on liquid nitrogen ;D, but to get 6ghz it would put the temps up loads. Even from 4-5ghz it will go from 40c to 80-90c. So to 6ghz would be lots of voltage increases. Maybe with a 480-560mm rad.

What did you end up pushing it to?

As stated, 6 GHz would be unobtainable without extreme cooling and I'd also question the basis of knowledge from the 'friend' contact.

With an AMD cpu generally yes, I was referring to an Intel i7 which generally runs hotter at 5ghz (some AMD cpu's runs hotter I know). My 3770k runs 70-80c at 4.8ghz, 5ghz it will do 91c on prime 95. But even still 6ghz+ would need liquid nitrogen.
