Here are the specs:
Dell Dimension 9100
Intel Pentium D@820
1gb ram(2x512) DDR2 SDRAM PC4300
Nvidia Geforce 6800GS PCI-e 16x Overclocked from factory
Sound Blaster Audigy 4 sound card
2 DVD-RW drives
Maxtor 250gb SATA hard drive
Western Digital SATA 200gb hard drive

Would I be able to play with everything on high settings or would it lag to much? Could I put a few settings on high? Right now, everything is set on medium. I have not changed any settings.

I believe you should be able to turn allot to higher settings but you'll get some slow down. If your gaming online medium settings will give you the best results.

I cannot stress this enough... Try it :). If you have the game and it is installed, you cannot hurt anything by trying it. Ultimately you will get a fast and accurate answer ;).

seeing as I have the best 6800GS on the market right now and a slightly better processor for gaming...

It should run fairly similar on your computer.... try medium as blue suggested

My computer passed just above the minimum line. I passed everything except ram. It requires 1.5gb and I only have 1gb.

If I buy some more ram, what kind should I get? Do the ram have to be DDR2 SDRAM PC4300 just like I have? What is a good brand?

Always try and purchase the same ram that is already in your system for best compatibly. You can mix and match but there are often consequences such as lowered speed (of ram), failure to boot the system, instability leading to crashes, etc.

You will have less hassle if you purchase the same type installed already.
