How good is a ATI 3450?

Hi there,

I want to complete my HTPC with 2 last parts. One is the mobo that I still need to buy, a 780G chipset. And the second one is the GPU. Normally, the mobo does enough with his 780G chipset, but I've heard that if you combine the 3450 with the mobo it will work in some sort of crossfire, is this true? And if it is, that means it is better then a 780G separate or a 3450 separate.

But my question is, how good is this ATI 3450? I know, it will bottleneck my cpu (5000+), but still... Is it better then a 6600? or a 6600GT? And how is the video quality? Is it better then a 6600gt?

your question how good is it will depend on how will you use it for,......it does not perform well with games, but I'm sure it is way better on HD movies and other multimedia,...I've seen benchmarks on hybrid crossfire( 780G chipset + HD3450 ) and it performs pretty decent on games like COD4. And yes it performs way better than the aging 6600GT both in games and image qualitybecause of the recent architecture and added features
