Hi guys.
I am currently on a 24Mb ADSL Package from TalkTalk.
Being upgraded to a 40Mb Cable package next week...
My master BT phone socket is in my mum's bedroom, and the secondary socket is located in my room, which connects to the router.
I have an engineer coming over next wednesday to install my cable modem and router, as well as any lines or extensions that need to be put in.
My question is, how is cable actually run??
Will a new line be installed into the house? Does it run over the existing telephone line?
I'd like to have the new box placed in my room next to my phone socket, and have been told that the engineer will be happy to do that providing I make the route easy and access sufficient to have said cables installed.
I just need to know what the engineer is actually going to do? Will he branch off the master socket? (will need to lift up floorboards to fit a new extension) or will a totally separate cable line be installed? (still need to lift floorboards)
