How long will this last?

How long do you think a 7900 GT will be able to play games at medium-high settings? Are there any cards for around the same price that could play them for longer?
 
Im thinking around 6-12 months OR if DX10 comes out with Vista about 10 months, the reason I have said this is because when DX10 comes out all these DX9 cards will be running on driver updates for DX10 and even if it is a 7900gt, Im not sure how it would cope, depends what games come out really but I can't really say for sure, but, if you do experience problems with lag when the new drivers come out just go Sli:) (saying this, im not saying wait till the G80 comes out, cos thats the think with graphics cards all the time, if everyone kept saying wait you would never actually get you're card:P
