Hello All.

Last Night We Had a Massive Power Surge. (stupid Storm)

Blew up a PSU In my Family computer.

I had to rebuild the system, Put a new PSU in, New Ram, New Opticals.

Thought i would start a thread on:

How Many Pc's Have You Built?

I am on 32 For Family, Friends, Myself, ect. . .

Dont even know why i remembered that, I love doin it tho. . . :D

I've done quite a few, at least 10-15. I do them for friends and family, and I built mine. :)
For the power surge, look into a Belkin surgemster powerboard. Lifetime warranty, so when the surge protection goes, they'll replace it. Mine has done it twice, and yet nothing connected to the power board, has died.

So basically it sacrifices itself too save everything else?

Did you see on the news the huge storm we had?

It was Crazy, It was 97km/h winds.

Blew over telephone boxes, Street signs, Poles.
 
Nope, haven't heard anything mate. Not as of yet anyway, it either hasn't reached Victoria, or it hasn't been on the news while I was watching it. :S
Yeah, the board does sacrifice itself to save the things connected to it. It's definitely worth the money I paid for it. ($90 since I knew a person at Harvey Norman, who gave it to me at cost price :) )

Thats a good deal, Ill looking at some UPS's today while i was in the computer store, and they wanted $110+ for em. Quite insane.

Ive been looking for something to take the pounding of a surge to save my other stuff.

Every Big Storm, im always worried about my server's, Desktops, Cisco Switches going down too.

Too Bad i dont care about my modem. Damn Dial Up. (well technically ISDN)

Seriously, I put it out in the storm last time i wanted a new one. I said it got storm damaged :D:D:D haha.

Lol ISDN, that'd suck. I got ADSL and I complain, I hate 512kb! I want ADSL 2+ but the damn exchange hasn't been upgraded!
 
I built 1/4 of a computer because me and my dad the absoult noobs in building lol , installed a GPU and 1gb of ram. It so fun building our pc up and my dad so funny because he looks at the mobo and it scares him because of all those slots and microchips lol.

Almost same as my old man, Except hes not a Complete Noob.

He learns by watching me do it, so when he is standing behind me, It involves

SLOW DOWN

DO THAT AGAIN
