How many people use TN panels as a monitor

I wouldn't bother with the TN Panels. Just stick with LCD's that have a high resolution, low MS rate, and the ratio for the colours are really high. (Ex: 8000:1, 10000:1, etc.)

Well if you get the higher ones, then if i remember correctly, they have more colours that they can produce.

Kinda. Higher contrast LCDs can display colors that have greater diffrence in luminance, e.g. The higher the contrast, the darker and brighter colors the monitor can produce... make sense? I really suck at wording some things, but Intel_man was close enough, and higher contrast ratio = better picture.

I typically see 1:800 or 1:1000 contrasts on LCD monitors while on the Hd LCD televisions I can see 1:10000,1:30000 or even higher.I wonder why they dont put higher contrasts on the computer monitors?

Price issues.

To easily define contrast ratios, if you look at a 1000:1 LCD monitor and look at a very nice picture, you would see it as a really cool picture.

Now if you go to your sony store, and check out their latest 11" OLED tv that has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 then you can see the EXTREME sharpness and PLUS the way they develop and project the picture is just amazing.
