How Many Pins

I'm looking to add some memory to my laptop, I did a CPU-Z to see what was already in there and it said "256 MB SDRAM". I went on Newegg and in "Notebook Memory" there were no hits for SDRAM, only in regular memory. Why is this? also there are different pins, how do I tell what type of pin my computer has.

And also, is Notebook memory and desktop memory the same?

this should tell you exactly what kind of ram you need, and how many pins it has. my laptop ram is 200pin, so desktop and laptop ram is different, but my laptop ram is about half the size of desktop.
