How many updates?

I just recently (last week) upgraded my OS from Vista64 to Windows7 (64).
Every single evening, when I shut my PC down, I receive notification that my system is downloading 84 updates. This is on EVERY SINGLE SHUTDOWN.

Now, I don't issue with this, if there are indeed that many updates that are needed to be collected. It just seems odd, to me, that I am receiving the same notice - about the same number of updates - each time I shut down. Would someone please share some light on this issue? I am just hoping that there isn't something out of order with my software.

There shouldn't be that many. Run Windows Update and that should install and configure all the updates properly. I don't always trust Windows installing updates on shutdown.
