Hey guys I'm a little confused, I'm about to pre-order windows 7 home premium retail edition and I'm not sure if I'll be able to use this for both computers in my house. I've tried googling but I keep getting a host of different answers. I know this might be against the forum rules but could i get away with it? Both computers are in the same house and even though win7 is on special offer its still pretty expensive having to pay another £50.

I've read something about being able to install a single license on a desktop computer as well as a laptop, so microsoft wouldn't be able to tell if its installed on 2 desktop computers?

Argh this is gonna be expensive if i have to buy 2 licenses.

I'm so pissed! I was going to pre-order it last week, and I didn't get a chance to, but if I had, there was a pre order sale till july 11 that I could have gotten pro for $100!!!

As to your question, lol. I haven't read up on it, and I don't know about their anti-piracy and licensing rules, but for XP, legally you couldn't.
 
I wouldn't touch fresh software personally. Would have to wait a month to see reviews and let updates/patches get released.
