how much better

Is it worth it?

What kind of work do you have to do?
If it's not back breaking work 20 hours isn't that much. I would do the 20 hours and save my money for a card that is VISTA ready. Then you won't have to upgrade again.
 
are neither of these vista ready? Do you just mean DX10 compatable? I reall don't mind using DX9 when vista comes out stuff will still work with it. Basically im asking is it worth 100 dollars to upgrade from the x850xt pe to the 7900gt in the link. the x850 has 256mb mem.
 
not in my book... but then, i'm a huge penny-pincher... if you have to have your eye-candy, go for it... besides, it's ''all about the eye-candy''

The card IS Vista ready. It just isn't DX10 compatable ;)
 
its filing work.. not too hard but 10 hours of it is very tedious. so you do think that the 7900 is worth the extra 100 out of my pocket?
 
wwow with the sale of my paintball gun i think i will be able to afford an x1900xtx or 7900gtx with just the money from the gun and filing. do you think thats worth it?

IMO, no, you have a nice card now as it is.
 
A very nice set of circumstances has led me to get a radeon x1900xt 512mb. My friend is paying my 170 for my x850 , I sold my paintball gun for another 50 for a total of 300, and I won an auction for an x1900 for 270. I couldn't pass this up even if i should have
