Its a laptop. so im not expecting miracles, im just wondering. Two additional questions, how much would one of those laptop cooling pads help while overclocking? Also whats up with my system info telling me that my 2.40 GHZ CPU is running at 3.20 GHZ, with only 10% usage?

What brand and model is your lappy? In theory, you should be able to get a few hundred more MHZ out of it, but with nearly all lappys you will need to go through a lot of trouble.

cooling pads help a lot I think (at least in my experience). They definitely keep the laptop cool, but I don't know if it'll do the same on the "inside" like.. CPU.

But after you use the cooling pad, the bottom of the laptop is so cold that you'll feel "better" about it I guess? Also, make sure you clean the dust off the fans in both the laptop and the cooling pad for better ventilation

I wouldn't overclock a laptop unless it's one that's specifically designed for it. You're just asking for trouble by doing that.
