How much could I get for this?

I want to sell a Biostar P4M900-M4 motherboard and the processor with it. The processor is rated at 3.0 GHz(I don't know exactly what processor it is). It has the fan on the processor already. The motherboard is just sitting on my desk and I don't need it. I'm thinking 80 bucks but is that too much?

It is either a 3GHz P4 Northwood chip, or Celeron D 345

Both of which are a pile of...well they aren't very good any more, and the celeron especially wasn't any use even when they first came out.

I just did a google search for them, and came up with both together being ~£50, which is ~$75, but remember parts are more expensive here, so you will be looking at a bit less. That was with the P4 btw, you will be seeing maybe £10 less with the celeron chip, so about $60, and they are all from retailers, so mark it down even more

I would say around $50 at most

Motherboard is LGA478, CPU probably be Celeron D/ P4 3GHz...

The cheapest $33 AMD Sempron 140 is faster than that. For motherboard, you can get a dirt cheap mobo @ $45 to run AMD Sempron 140. And that mobo could run phenom II CPU
What is the point of spending $80 on a outdated cpu + mobo??
I suggest you sell it seperately for $30-40. There may be some ppl want a replacement of their malfunction component.

So thirty to forty for each piece, the mobo and processor? So I could get around $60 at least?

ha, don't break his heart, I've seen a P4 @3.0 Ghz go for £42 on eBay UK. I think the guy was collecting intel chips for a collection though :P

Somebody out there wants a direct replacement for their non running CPU/mobo. The problem is getting lucky and having him or her bid on it when you put it on eBay. Otherwise, like you wrote, newer is better and cheaper.
