i have that fan with a 2400+ amd athlon xp-mobile. Im getting a new power supply next week that should have all the power to get a good oc but my question is on an air cooled system how much can you oc before the air cooling becomes inefficient?

Right now I'm at 2.2 ghz and I want to possibley get 2.5 ghz by running the fsb at 200 and the multiplier at 12.5.

just saying, even with all of that cooling, heat isnt gonna be an issue, with me or you, it just depends on how far your RAM will let you go.... i doubt temps will go above 120*f

sorry, I thought you were trying to brag. My ram can go to about250 fsb, so I should technically be good to 3125mhz, and my mobo I think can go to about 220fsb so I would be physically be able to oc to 2750mhz.

Well you can always asynch-OC it

true, but if you can hit thoes speeds, then more power to you, just get a nice helping of AS5 with it... try to bring it to about 2.2GHz to see if its stable

its already at 2.2 and its stable, the only thing that is holding me back is my power supply, but im getting a better on next week.

I have a 450w supply that came with my case but there are only 18 amps on the 12v rail and the one im getting is 420w but there are 18 amps on the 12v rail.

edit: wrong number, its not 30 its 18, how many amps are on your 12v rail on the other one you have.

ill hook it up and take picks of it running if you'd like?

i just want to know if I can oc allot with it. Im trying to get my gfx card to 600/1250 (i got a zalman gpu fan) and my cpu to 2.4 ghz with a 200fsb and 12.0 multiplier.
