How much ping is too much?

So basically, I'm moving out and won't have internet where I'm going for a while, but I can tether my phone and use that. However, when playing TF2, my ping hovers between 100 and 200, usually towards 200, occasionally a bit more. Is that enough to make me lag and jump around the map, or is it ok to play on?

I initially didn't even think it was worth trying, until I remembered playing Q3A back when Pridogy internet (dial up) was the only thing available...go figure, haha.

Multi player I think you are a little slow. I think 60ms or better where you want to be. So 100ms not so bad but 200ms not good.

I dunno, between 100 and 200 has always been completely fine for me. If I play in US servers I get that, and apart from sometimes shooting where someone was rather than where they are and hitting them, there is no problem at all, I don't jump and neither does anyone else. Unless you have 250+ or keep getting like spikes and CI, it isn't really an issue

US East Coast servers I tend to get around 40-60 ping, West Coast around 100. Euro servers I tend to get around 200-250 and I'm fine playing on those. I don't really have a noticeable problem til I get over 300 or os.

Less than 100 is best. It will depend on the game you're playing, and your style.

If you're sniping that little bit off can make you miss. If you're running and gunning, then you won't notice it as much.

If it's something like Left for Dead you may notice it even less.

300+ is where it can begin to get really annoying.
