what amperages and wattages for a dual/single 12v railed psu to power:

e4300 @ 3ghz
ddr667 oc'd to ddr 800
gigabyte ds3
1 hdd
1 dvd rom

thanks

i was thinking 500w with 15a/15a on the 12v, im on a budget so im cutting it close

Whoa there... youll need way more amps than that. I only have 18, and im cutting it very close. Get at least 25-30. The watts should be good, tho.

You cant add them both together to get the true amperage, but it's usually pretty close.

My previous PSU had quad +12V @ 18A each, which theoretically should be 72A, but its actually only 52A combined. And also, my dual +12V at 20A each is only 29A combined.

As Omega said, you can't just add them. 18A+18A might equal 36, but there are also cases where 18A+18A=18A, and everything in between. If the total amperage isn't stated, look for something that shows the total wattage under the +12V rails. Divide this number by 12 to find the available amperage. You may also be able to find this information on the manufacturer website, however it may not be available. The manufacturers are under no obligation to divulge this information.

As for the amount of power required, what video card will you be using?
