How much RAM is recognised?

Hey,

I've been getting conflicting stories about how much RAM a computer can recognise.
The Gigabyte site says for my mobo specs (GA-EP45-DS3P) that Windows 32 bit operating systems will only recognise less that 3gb of RAM.
However my friends say that XP will only recognise 2gb whereas Vista will recognise up to 4gb?

I was planning on buying 4gb of 1066mhz RAM and would like to know if the computer is going to be able to work with all of it?

Thanks for the help

Vista with SP1 will tell you the full 4GB is there but at the most only 3.25GB will actually be available. XP will only tell you how much is available and again it will be around 3GB.

If you get 4GB the computer will still work it simply wont be able to access all the RAM.
