How much ram

Ok heres the deal.Im not a big gammer but do play some.Should i go two gig(2x1gig) or one gig(2x512).No mater what im going Corsair xms plat.My boy is gonna sell me his 1 gig(2x512)Corsair xmx plat for 30 dollars in a week or two.
The reason is should i jus get one and get the antec power supply and then get more ram?THe power supply i have now is JUNK.Dont think it will hold but was gonna chance it.

So

A. 1gig (2x512) and antec power supply 500w
B. 2gig (2x1gig) and wait to buy power and more ram.
