How much vram do I need?

I have a ASUS VG278HE and I am planning on buying a new gpu and I was wondering how much vram do I need for intense gaming. I willuse the 3D as well. I will be playing games like bf4 max settings so I would like to know if I should get 2gb, 3gb, 4gb, or 6gb. I want to get the most out of my moniter and experience my hardware to my fullest. I am thinking either a gtx 760 4gb or 3gb or a regular gtx 770 2gb.
 
2 gb is plenty for my 1080p monitor, but 3D may tax the VRam more, not sure. Either way, a 770 2 GB will be much better then a 3GB 760, by far. My 2GB 770 maxes out every single game, and the only one that didn't remain at 60FPS was Crysis 3, but it still was at a playable 40FPS most of the time. A 760 couldn't do this at all.
