How much would overcloking really improve performence?

It can increase your performance significantly, but don't worry about OC yet. I don't recommend OC for people who do not know what they are doing, no offence.

to be honest, whats the point of overclocking a duo 2? just so you can say 'look at my fast processor'? theres no need as its fast enough as it is i reckon

Try this software from PCTracker if you need that extract bit speed, we used it within our school, be warned it removes themes and such things but does what it says on the tin (so to speak), + does not endanger your hardware.

Depending on the overclock, it can improve gameplay dramatically.

u must be mad if u wanna oc ur laptop, cause it is the strongest, fastest, laptop on market till now and not just between laptops, but also desktops.
there is no processor faster than ur one (except core 2 duo 2.33, or quad core work station)

I havent found a new laptop that can be overclocked (Dell's, HP's, Compaq's, etc). If you try Windows-based overclocking tools, the laptops crash after a few Mhz of a raise.
