How often do you get fed up with glitches, errors, driver problems, spyware, slower and slower startups, phantom tasks, bad installs, bad uninstalls, residual program elements from removed programs, etc. etc. etc. and completely reformat your drives, and reinstall a fresh o/s?
This includes both installing completely fresh, reformatting and restoring from a ghost or backup, and installing a different o/s.
I know i typically completey reformat and reinstall windows 2-3 times a year.
But over the last few weeks, i've been experimenting with vista, so i've gone from
-Windows XP MCE2004 to
-Vista Ultimate to
-Windows XP Pro to
-Windows XP MCE2005 (garbage!) so i went back to
-Vista Ultimate, but got fed up with how slow it accesses folders, so back to
-Windows XP Pro
and there i stay.
And on my laptop, i went from
-Windows XP Home, but wanted to try
-Vista Ultimate, too slow so
-Vista Basic Home, but got my hands on
-Windows XP x64, but couldn't get my AC97 to install properly, so back to
-Vista Basic Home, but it's networking SUCKS, and it isn't compatible with sysco LEAP, so i switched to
-Windows XP Pro
And that's how my laptop stands. That way my laptop and desktop have the same o/s and networking is a snap.
I typically don't get that crazy with installs, but i really wanted to love Vista, it just didn't happen for me.
So 3-4 times a year (typical) for me. How about you?
