How often should I run Avast full system scan?

I have Avast. It says there are no viruses on my computer. Theoretically, since Avast starts when the computer starts and is always running, then there should never be any viruses on my computer.

But how often should I run an Avast full system scan anyway?

Should I permanently delete the files that are in my virus chest?

i like to leave the files in the virus chest for awhile in case they are a false positive and are actually something i use.this almost never happens but im careful that way.as for doing a full system scan,i very rarely do it.if something strange happens or you get an alert that something has been detected then by all means.i do more malwarebytes scans than av scans.
 
How can malware get on your computer if you have an antivirus? I ran one malware scan and that should do it as long as the antivirus is running at all times, right?
 
Do a full system scan once in a while or when you think you might be infected.

Malware can 'slip through the net' without your AV detecting it. This is also why we recommend running Malwarebytes as well as Avast or something. What one doesn't detect the other usually does.
 
remember,no av will stop everything and neither will a malware protection program.this is why you need a layered approach to protection as well as doing regular scans.the final component in any protection is common sense.
 
I run a full scan once a week, no matter what. I have it scheduled for it, since my computer is always running.
 
Sandboxie and Herdprotect. Anti-virus software gave two shits about Cryptolocker. If you don't run Sandboxie at least use the addon for Pale Moon and Firefox called Noscript and allow base 2nd level domains by default to ease the cumbersomeness.
