well, my cpu is well overclocked, and today i just saw a warning sign, because my cpu temperature got above 70C...

is it safe for my cpu? i mean did i damage it in anyway? if i see some glitch from video clip?

Sorry, didn't mean to create 3 of the same threads, but i can see that i am not allowed to delete the threads i create... sorry

If it's 70°C at idle then you do have a serious cooling problem.

What settings are you using? FSB, multiplier and vcore.

that's way high. I'd go back to default and see if it goes down to a more acceptable temp, then go from there

that probably isn't even safe for it at all..

yea those are dangerous temperatures... your cpu will damage itself at those temps. re-apply heatsink and thermal compound.
you may want to consider a new cooler as well.
Arctic Silver Instructions
make sure you seperate the instructions for the compound you plan on using... they kind of mix together arctic silver 2 3 and 5 into the same webpage.

70 degrees C idle or not, is very dangerous. What chip do you have? How high tdid you clock to, and do you have an aftermarket heatsink?

well, i am using as5, re applied after this warning, and yet, the cpu temps go up as high as 65C,
its not idle temperature though, may be when playing games, or dvd burning...
idle, when the computer is turned on, may be 52C or so.
i have a fan at the back and one at the side...

oh ya, now i leave my side panal opened, so that the computer might stay cooler...
i don't know what else i can try

oh ya, the v-core is at stock though, (1/33V)
so overclocking won't mean much at this point, would it?

I would try and keep it below 60C. I am not sure what temps are ok for opterons, but seriously, that is too hot. Bring the speeds down before you damage something. Aim for 50C atleast.
