was that a threat?

the police have been contacted about the identity theft in this criminal matter. your name and ip address may be used as a list of suspects in this criminal proceeding. you may be contacted by the police.
the crime of identity theft bears a 30 year sentence in prison and a $2,500 fine depending on the severity.

$221.96 was charged to my credit card for a purchase that was made in a hair salon in Poland, only several days after the hcking had been noticed on my computer.

unless you are devil worshipers (i'm not talking about you mycattmaxx) -- a person that is evil will threaten, insult, ignore, change the subject from the importaint topics at hand, cut off in mid sentance the victim of a crime, and make a laughing stock out of a white hat cyber security gaurd.

i am going to start reading holy scripture from the bible because some of you need to be exorcised, until some semblance of humanity is returned.

so unless you worship satan, you'll tell me how to go about taking steps toward dealing with this identity theft issue.
why would you try and prevent someone from trying to protect themselves, their lives/livlihood, and their computer systems from harm and danger?

Work behind a router. Don't go to dodgey websites. Don't use an infected computer.

How many more threads are you gonna create?

He was being sarcastic

ALL HAIL SATAN!!

Seriously, this is my last time I'm going to tell you in a nice way. Here are the steps:

  1. Get ONE A-V (I use Avast Free)
  2. Get Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware
  3. Don't go to weird websites
  4. Don't download Torrents or P2P files (illegal ones can have trojans)
  5. Don't click on any pop-up, commercial you see on websites (especially on porn websites)
  6. Comon sense is your best tool, if it doesn't feel right, don't click it

Now you don't have a reason for another of those same threads asking the same question over and over.

And remember to not use admin account for everyday stuff. Have you reinstalled Windows?

Also, identity theft doesn't necessarily happen over the Internet, and may not have anything to do with what goes on with your computer. It's entirely possible that some legit website that you've bought stuff from (or even your bank) was hacked - this stuff is far more frequent than most people realise. I still don't know what you mean by you being hacked (the only malware you did make mention of is, I repeat, benign), but if you're convinced this is the case, you certainly should have reinstalled by now.

If you're this worried about security, give serious consideration to the idea of doing sensitive online transaction on a live Linux system, and make sure you don't ever visit your bank website or use your credit card/paypal on your main installation (indeed, don't visit any websites that contain personal information of yourself.)
