How Soon Until Upgrade Is Needed?

I built my pc christmas time last year. I have been looking at smaller form factors and decided not to bother switching out motherboards for a dead socket. As a result I will run my setup until it is not longer holding up.

I am currently using an I5-3570. It is not the k version. Also my graphics card is a 7850.

I was wondering how long I can expect to play new release games without any problems. I like being able to max the settings on my games but am not sure if this setup can do that much longer. Any ideas as to the lifespan of these parts is appreciated.
 
Max settings? That GPU won't be able to handle that for much longer at all. The GPU will probably Last the next 2 or 3 years on low. The CPU, about 4 or 5 years.

Probably not last that long? You call 2 to 3 years not that long?

Granted it's not the highest end card, but it should last pretty long. Though I'd personally recommend upgrading to a stronger card. Your CPU won't be a bottleneck for quite a while to come.
 
I had a feeling with the new consoles PC games will be able to improve significantly. Dont mind getting a new card but a new cpu will require new board and os.
 
Yeah you'll be fine with the 3570 for a while. Just get a newer card. Something like a GTX 570 or 670 should be able to hold you over for a while. My GTX 570 was able to run everything on ultra without an issue.

I said Max settings for not that long, and just playing games at low and medium for 2 or 3 years.

Why would you get a 570 if you already have a 7850?
 
I have a 2500K and a 5870 - both of which are older than what you have, and it's still playing games perfectly adequatly.

My 5870 only has 1GB of RAM and will be 5 years old next September, yet it still plays games at 1080p without a problem. It's about the same speed as your 7850.

I think you should be fine with your 3570 and 7850 for a couple more years to come.
