Is there any way to completely autohide the taskbar?? I get a annoying white line at the bottom of the screen, which ruins my beautiful wallpaper.

What operating system?

I can only remember windows XP :-)..

- Right click on taskbar
- click properties
- in the window that pops up put a checkmark in "Auto-hide the task bar"

You can end the explorer.exe(the task bar) task from the task manager, but then again you wont be able to lunch it again, so if you wanna normal windows, you cant.

works great thanks. :)

basically sometimes i just want wallpaper, winamp in the background, and limited functions - firefox window still works etc.. now i can get to do some real work...

afaik if you have one of those keyboard with functions you can assign programs to, do one for explorer, and you should be fine.
