how to backup a windows?

hi,
ive just installed a a new win on my notebook. a hour later I have installed all the programs i need.now i want to creat a backup of my c: drive and burn it into CD. So that everytime my computer gets slow or someone(m brother) installs a program I insert the recovery disks and it will format the hole C: and copy the windows again.

how? which program?
 
You need a program that can create a partition image, and if you want to burn it to CD's, one that can split the backup image into manageable chunks. Norton Ghost is probably the best known software to create backups of that sort, but it's not free. For a freeware alternative, take a look at this. I haven't used it, but seems to be what you're looking for.
