How to Boost the performance of my e-GeForce 7300gt?

I have to admit that i don't know that much about computers, except that i love to play games every once and a while. I just purchased an e-GeForce 7300gt (512mb)graphics card expecting to get a huge boost of performance compared to the previous card that was, which was a Radeon something that 128mb of ram.

I have a dell E510. Here is what i did when switching out the old for the new card. I simply took the old card out and plugged in the new 7300gt card. The manual said something about plugging in a power cable to the card but didn't see anything to plug into (should i plug in additional power?). I plugged everything back up to the computer, started it, and then went to install the new drivers. I got an error message that said something about not being able to test the windows logo or something. I finished the installation without complication.

Like i said, i don't know much of anything about computers, but it seems that this upgrade should improve the performance of my new flight simulator game by a large amount. It still is jerky!

What can i do do improve the performance (faster) of my computer without having to spend more money. My processor speed is over 2gighertes, 1gb of ram, and then my new GeForce 7300gt pci express graphics card.

Thanks for the help!

well you should have gotten a 4-pin molex to PCI-E power converte. Use that on your power supply to plug into your card. it will need more power when your gaming

the only thing to boost performance would be to overclock it

it's usually a good idea to completely remove the old drivers, especially when switching brands.
